US Territory
As someone who has military friends and used to talk about going to Guam all the time, I can vouch for the draw of this place. They spoke of the pristine beaches and turquoise waters and loved the authentic Chamorro Cuisine. Then, at night, they would immerse themselves in the vibrant nightlife.
Places to Stay, Eat, and Things to Do.
I will list a few places that I think would be exciting, and then I will go into the History of Guam and tell you a little about it in the now. I know I would love to visit this island.
There is a 5-star hotel called RILIGA Royal, starting at $120.00 a night. It has an ocean view and all the amenities. It has a restaurant on site called La Cascata. This looks like a beautiful hotel. Its shape is very unusual, and it has Vs around the pool.
There is a more moderate hotel called the Bayview Hotel Guam. Six hundred feet away, you can get that gorgeous tan on the beach. This hotel has free parking and complimentary breakfast. It also has a refrigerator and many other amenities. It starts at $100.00.
There is a steak restaurant called Delmonico on the premises. Now, this sounds like my kind of place. I love steak. You can ask for help at the desk of hotel for day trips. I believe this would be my choice.
There are many tours to explore Latte Jungle Riverboat Adventure Cruise. You get to see the exciting culture of the Chamorro Indigenous people on a riverboat. You will experience one of their villages and their food, barbecue. You will get to watch them make crafts. This is a 4-hour tour, and I believe it is worth $110.00.
Next, I chose an underwater aquarium. There, you can see many aquatic animals, swim with sharks, and eat lunch.
But, like any other place, there are water activities, sports, and many other things to choose from. I left links so you can look through the exciting places on the island.
Here is another link to check out where it will run around $155.00 Daily for food and hotel for two adults.
Go in and hit Guam button to see the many things to do on the island with the prices for you. You cannot subscribe to newsletter because the links are broken. There are other countries in there also you can dream about going to.
Food of The Chamorro
Chicken Kelaguen is lemon spicey with shrimp and fish.
Escabeche is fish or shrimp with veggies that will spice your life for the day.
Barbecue chicken and short ribs are a delight, and I'd like to see how it compares to Texas or Georgia barbecue. I have a feeling it may win the contest.
There are many other foods to experience, like Hotnon Babui, which is a whole pig cooked in the ground. I have Filipino friends, and we had this dinner at Thanksgiving. It is excellent, but I do not like my dinner staring at me.
Red rice is always the staple of these beautiful meals.
