I was looking for a great place to take the small grandchildren for Christmas. With my knees being bad, I also wanted an indoor pool. Well, I found the perfect place for everyone. I have to take their moms too due to the fact I cannot keep up.
This place is an indoor water park. You can go there for the day, but it was beneficial to rent a suite. I will get a cabana when we check out. It has a sofa and TV in there to relax and rest.
My suite is great. It has 1 queen bed, bunk beds, a pull-out sofa, and a twin bed. The room is beautiful.
The Great Wolf Lodge
There are 15 water slide activities for different age groups that come with your package.
There is the Lazy River for grandmas like me. There is also a water playground for the whole family that is low-key called Raccoon Lagoon. So many more low-key activities to enjoy. Enjoy the wave pool at 5ft deep with the family.
There is a medium thrill which is Big Foot Pass for the family. It takes coordination to get across lily pads. If basketball is your game, go to the other end and play away. Several medium thrill slides will have your heart racing for more.
Then you have several high thrillers racing to the finish line. There is one that goes straight down. Too much for me.
Best of all for the kids is the four-story water activity tower at Fort Mackenzie. They will have tons of fun on this tower with other children just like the playground at home but with water.
When you get tired or hungry, go to the cabana and have some lunch. Bring your own or order. There is a sofa and TV to lie back and relax. If you had rather eat at the park, there are many restaurants to choose from—pizza, Mexican Grill, hamburgers, breakfast and snacks.
I was hoping to find an exciting place to go for Christmas for my youngest son’s family. My youngest grandchild has been and loves it.
When I booked this, it was a better deal to get the suite than do a day trip.
We check in at 4:00, but we will get to go to the park at 1 pm right away. They do not close until 8:00 pm. Then we can go to the room, sleep, get up, and go to their wonderful breakfast.
We can check out at 10:00 am, get a cabana, and go back to the water park until 8:00 pm.
There are other activities onsite that you can do but for an extra charge.
My grandson had me watching YouTube videos and it was so exciting. You have a huge arcade, bowling, mini golf, scavenger hunt, and many other things.
There are many shops to buy souvenirs or if you forgot anything, including a bathing suit.
This will be one of my favorite places to take my youngest grandson till he gets older. Since he has already been twice, I am sure of it.
There are many Wolf Lodges around. This one is in Atlanta, Georgia. There is one in California, Arizona, Texas and many more.
I will be doing a follow-up to show you the excitement of it all.
Do not forget flu season is here. Here are some honey recipes that will help with different ailments. The fire cider that I printed on one of my Substacks, you cannot beat. Take it regular for many benefits.
My thoughts this Christmas
This is a hard time of year for a lot of people and many people are alone and get depressed. Some families are not on good terms, and it is really sad. There are too many divorces and broken families.
When you are out, give someone a smile or hello. You do not know how much that may mean to them. So, what if they do not respond.
Maybe you have a neighbor who is alone. Take them some cookies or a card. I have a friend who took her neighbor breakfast every Saturday. He was all alone and grouchy. One day he said to her, “If you insist on bringing me breakfast, I like my eggs OM not scrambled. This is when she was a schoolteacher in Texas. After a while, her and her family moved to Georgia to be close to her family. Many years later, she received word that this man had died. The lawyer had contacted her. He left her $50,000. Her brother-in-law was a builder and built her a house for free on the land with help of other family. She had been living in an A-frame house with 4 small children. I do not tell you this to be generous to expect something, but I do believe when you do God’s will without murmuring and complaining, he takes care of our needs.
Over the years, it was a terrible strain to get my family together. I stopped trying. I just pray that one day we will be together as a family. Last time we were together was on my 60th birthday.
One son is a faithful Christian family man, the other son—his children are non-believers. So those children will not come to any family gatherings.
I know a lot of families go through the same and it hurts the older people that are left. So, let’s be kind to one another this year. My parents are still alive, and I am thankful. I just am regretful that we do not have the dinners that we had when I was a child. Family stuck together and ate together.
