Reflecting on my life recently, I realized how much time has sped by. It was as though Father Time had sped up the time of life. Everything was speeding like lightning. Children were growing up. They had children. Inventions were miraculous. Almost anything you could imagine was happening here in this world. Good and Evil.
I was born in the 1960s when you could play outside with your friends. Your mom was at home and would tell you to be home before dark. You did not worry about being snatched up by someone, shot by a drive-by, or hurt by anyone.
You may worry about that spanking if you are not home by dinner. It was terrible you had to pick your hickory switch if she could not find you. We got grounded from going anywhere if we did not obey our parents. We didn’t have computers, games, and TVs to get taken away from.
There was one black and white TV with three channels, and you got up to change the channel. There was no cable or satellite, only rabbit ears with tin foil. And by the way, your dad usually had control of the TV.
As I got into my early teens, we got a few more channels. We watched cartoons on Saturday and then went roller skating. Friday nights were 1.00 movie night.
We rode our bicycles everywhere. We walked to school in groups. We played sports in seasons, not all year long like it seems to be now. It was fun, not so violent, like today.
Then, as I got in my teens, there were the drive-ins. I still miss those. They have a movie in the park now, but it is not the same. Those were the good times. Piling six people in a car, no seatbelts, and off we went. 2.00 in gas would get us around town all night.
All the kids who had cars would hang out at Hawthorne Plaza, The Krystal, or Leland Plaza. Just places for us to mingle. We are all still connected on FB. It is amazing to see how many people stayed friends over the years. It is great. I have been in contact with some of my old friends. Some are even married to each other.
But now, it is sad how fast time has sped up. You cannot let children have the freedom we once had. You have to watch their every move. This began in about the 1990s or earlier.
Drugs are more rapid now. Sex trafficking, and just the moral decay of society.
Children sit and play with electronics more than ever. People watch TV more and they do not communicate with each other like they used to.
I for one, am taking stock of my own life. I need balance. More exercise, more prayer time, writing time, and time with family and friends.
I watched my mother go through an unnecessarily bad surgery and she and prayer pulled herself through. But she could have died on her first day. Her BP dropped. No one ever took her blood pressure. My sister did. My sister cared for her 24/7 till she was out of the woods. This will be an article soon coming. Look after your sick loved ones.
When she walked away from doing her exercise, I said,” Tough old bird”. She said,” I heard that.” Then we all laughed.
Times have changed fast. Do not be asleep. Take care of your loved ones. Do your homework.
It is time to make changes to our terms, not the ‘Times’ terms.
Thank you for reading my article.

You will need the following recipe every day to keep your immune system up this Winter. I have stayed healthy for the last three years, and although I got Covid, I healed. I took it every four hours when sick.
Recipe for Fire Cider
medium organic onion, chopped.
10 cloves of organic garlic crushed or chopped.
Zest and juice from 1 organic lemon
1/2 cup fresh grated organic ginger root (or organic ginger root powder)
1/2 cup fresh grated organic horseradish root (or organic horseradish powder)
1 Tbsp. organic turmeric powder
Black pepper (helps turmeric digest)
1/4 tsp. organic cayenne powder
2 Tbsp. of dried rosemary leaves
Organic apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup of raw, local honey, or to taste
Directions
Place your roots, fruits, and herbs in a quart-sized glass jar.
Pour the apple cider vinegar into the jar until all ingredients are covered, and the vinegar reaches the jar's top.
Use a piece of natural parchment paper under the lid to keep the vinegar from touching the metal, or a plastic lid if you have one. Shake well.
We let ours sit on the counter in a cool place for four weeks.
After one month, use cheesecloth to strain out the pulp, pouring the vinegar into a clean jar. Be sure to squeeze as much liquid as possible from the pulp while straining.
Only add honey if you want. It adds to sweetness and helps with health.
It will turn your insides on fire, but it works. You can try OJ with it, too.
